Yeah, thanksgiving is an American thing, and no, we don't have it in Holland because no pelgrims landed here. But (un)fortunately, we do have american sports channels on cable, which of course someone in this family had to order because a particular team was doing rather well this year, apparently, and even more so, because a 'big game' was on on thanksgiving itself. Well! How could one resist??? No-one, apparently....
Sheesh. Americans and their 'sports'...

oh well, if you will have American [Dutch] kids, they have to learn about their "American heritage" too,
I suppose! ...oh well, a good bonding exercise.

Love the PJs!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Actually, the Pilgrims did land there and lived in Leiden for two years to flee persecution. But their children were getting too assimilated with the Dutch so they sailed to Plymouth Rock in Mass (?) and stayed there.
You can see the "Pilgrim Church" in Leiden... or at least, you used to be able to. Leiden has changed so much since I was there - even the great church in the centre [where Xander got married] is now a civil building! Life goes on, I guess.
