YEAYYY! And there we have the '12 months photo'. What a big boy!
Oma came to visit and took Emile for a nice walk to the bird park. Here he is enjoying (and contributing to) the view.
We took a bike ride down to the Japanese garden where the cherry blossoms are blooming. Sheltered by the bamboo, it was nice and warm in the birthday sunshine!
Amstelveen is so pretty in the spring time.
Waking up in the morning to discover streamers and balloons all through the house!
And Emile looooves these.
On Friday morning we open the wonderful gifts people have sent from all around... including superduper puzzles and books from Tante Nicki (&co), the classic jingly-pully phone from Aunt Marian, a whole bunch of farmtime legos from Aunt Kari and...
a giant - and I mean giant - box from Grandma Diane and Aunt Renee & Uncle Gene with a big blue plane, a Noah's Ark and some other fun toys. Emile's friends were very impressed with all his cool new gear! (and played the song again, and again, and again, and...)
A few more impressions of the Amstelveen Birthday of the Year:

welcome to Emile's toy shop. If you don't see anything you want... you're not looking properly!!
Wow, what a haul he got. I am sure that he will have lots and lots of fun this year with all his new toys and all the things he is learning to do. Thank you for all the pictures, he does look different today now that he is ONE!
