Today Emile ate a HUGE dinner. This is so unique, that it's worth a special blogpost. On top of a few bites of lasagna (which might even have contained a few
vegetables), he ate a whole young man portion of spaghetti carbonara. I mean, it must have been at least a baby bowl full, 10 bites or maybe even more. And this is about 8 bites more than his average dinner, so we were very happy and rewarded him with one of his very favourite deserts:
ijs (which not only he can eat all by himself , he can say it and knows
exactly what it means).

Now then. This looks a lot more exciting than it is. But sitting there (and occasionally accidentally leaking something in there) is a great start. And it looks so cute!

Last weekend we had a play date with Emile's little friends from the new-mom's club. 5 little toddlers playing, chattering and just being generally all-round cute.

2 weeks ago Oma was visiting Belgium (of course she took all these great pictures -and about 200 more - that she actually isn't featured in very many of them)

so we went to see the whole
fam down there and had a jolly old time. Emile showed off his walking skills,

discussed football with cousin Thomas,

received lots of cool gifts, such as this little fireman raincoat from tante Ellen and Uncle Marty (matching boots will fit in a year or so) ;)

and played, played, played, to his heart's content, with Oma, with 'lala',

and of course with his bestest friend....

We loooove our babbit!!

Oh right - new words. Emile can identify and point to his oren
and his ears, his neus
and nose, his mondje
and mouth, his haar
and hair, his buikje
and tummy, his voetjes
and feet, his teentjes
and his toes!

well done, Emile! All those words and a potty too!
Well done, Mama, for a really great posting this week.
Glad to see you've got involved in a toddler group. This network will be one of your most important ones, outside working circles. Keep it up!
Lots of love from Oma and OpaJon
Wow what a smart little child, bilingual and all. That potty is very space agey looking! How fun that he goes in it once in a while. Good job Emile! Thank you for the big long post & pictures.
Groetjes,
Alexandra
