sticks 'n snails 'n puppies

The difference between girls and boys... well, let's put it this way: mama never had to go to hospital until she gave birth at age 32 - whereas Emile has been to the emergency room twice by the age of 1,5. Once for an ear infection, and once... for a fractured arm, last Saturday, following a nasty tumble from the sofa. Our tough little guy barely even let on that anything was wrong, so the only way we figured it out was because he was crawling about like a limp doggie on two knees and one hand. Now he is sporting a little white cast (with cool stickers), wrist to shoulder. Hopefully he will be good as new verrrrry soon.

Sad little tumbles notwithstanding, Emile is still cute as ever. Whereas formerly, Ziggy's little head would be peeking through the catflap upon papa's return from work, now someone else is sitting there to say hello...
And as we all know, with a small child to look after, one sometimes gets a little behind on the administration. Or sometimes even a small fuzzy behind... Despite all the excitement, Emile was chipper at Sunday dinner, even eating a few kernels of corn (yes, vegetables....) with his left hand, all the while singing a happy little song. What a champ.

Ach shime! (as they say in South Efrica)... what a sweetie! A real star.
Maybe this is one of those kinderziekten (child's illnesses) he has to go through once and then no more...? (I don't know, I only had proper little girls!)
Thanks for the photos.

It sounds like he is saying "uit" like he wants to get it off his arm. Poor Emile!!!
